各生物種に由来するGenomic DNAは、Sambrook et al.の方法で精製されます。パルスフィールド電気泳動後にエチジウムブロマイド染色を行うと、90%以上のDNAが50Kb以上のサイズであることが確認できます。電気泳動では、RNAとタンパク質は検出されません。サザンブロッティングハイブリダイゼーションやPCRを含んだゲノム分析,ゲノムライブラリー作成に好適です。
