5X Green GoTaq® Reaction Bufferには、２種類の色素（ 青色および黄色）が含まれており、電気泳動により分離されサンプルの移動状態をモニタリングすることができます。また、このバッファーにはサンプルの比重を増加させる化合物が含まれているため、アガロースゲルのウェル内でサンプルが沈みます。このため、サンプルにローディングダイを加えずに、そのままPCR反応液をアガロースゲルに添加することができます。青色の色素は3–5kb DNA断片と同じ割合で移動し、黄色の色素はプライマー（＜50bp）よりも速く移動します（1% アガロースゲルの場合）。5X Colorless GoTaq® Reaction Buffer は、5X Green GoTaq® Reaction Bufferから色素を除いたもので、クリーンナップをせずに増幅産物の吸光値や蛍光値を測定するアプリケーションでの使用に推奨されます。 Cat.# M8901 and M8911はマグネシウムイオンが含まれていません。
